GLOBUL DOUBLES DATA TRANSFER SPEED OF ITS 3G NETWORK

After successfully completed tests, GLOBUL will be the first Bulgarian mobile operator to offer data transfer speed of up to 14.4 mbps in its 3G network via the High Speed Package Access (HSPA) technology. This is two times faster than the maximum speed offered by the other mobile networks in the country.

With the enhanced capacity of GLOBUL 3G network, company customers will enjoy faster access to the internet, e-mail and various mobile applications on their mobile handsets and via their mobile-enabled personal computers. GLOBUL will also offer new 3G internet modems with 14.4 mbps or higher capability.

The new data transfer speed will be gradually introduced firstly in areas with high data services usage including commercial and industrial parks, university centers, seaside and mountain resorts.

Since 2006, GLOBUL had invested more than BGN 70 million in the development of its UMTS network and 3G-based services. Presently, GLOBUL 3G network covers 78% of the country’s population.
