At an official ceremony today GLOBUL donated an ambulance to Blagoevgrad’s Emergency Medical Service Centre. This is the fifth of all ten ambulances within the company’s donation for its 10th anniversary.

GLOBUL Corporate Affairs Director Yassen Guev, Blagoevgrad Mayor Mr. Atanas Kambitov and the city’s Emergency Medical Service Centre Director Dr. Velichka Antova assisted the event. At the ceremony Mr. Guev handed to Mr. Kambitov the keys of the ambulance which will be used for the needs of Blagoevgrad region residents.

GLOBUL is one of Bulgaria’s leading telecommunication companies but as a business organization we have never neglected our responsibility towards the society. We believe that we should use part of our resources to contribute to its development. However, we realize that such a donation cannot solve all existing healthcare issues in the country but we hope that these ambulances will help to save more human lives, Mr. Guev said at the event.

I would like to say that I feel very happy and pleased that in times of deep financial crisis there are still socially responsible companies. I sincerely believe that GLOBUL’s noble act to support the Emergency Medical Service Center will find proper response by the business and approval by society, Mr. Kambitov commented.

The first four ambulances from GLOBUL donation were granted to Sofia’s Emergency Medical Service Centre in October 2011, and the other five will be provided to various cities in the country by the end of the year.

All ten ambulances were produced by Opel and were equipped according to the European standards for providing emergency medical services. They were also registered and insured. The total value of the donation is estimated at over BGN 800,000 which makes it the largest single donation by a company in the country since 1989.
